The kitchens at the Grand Hotel are a hive of chefs using their culinary flair to create appetising dishes for all our guests. As Pastry Chef de Partie you will be a key team player in the kitchen, helping to ensure the effective running of the department.

What you will do

• Take responsibility for the preparation and presentation of all pastries and afternoon tea, ensuring that all guests receive efficient service and high quality dishes
• Ensure that all dishes from that section are prepared consistently and according to standard recipes
• Ensure that set ticket times are met and communicates to management if this is not met
• Welcome and be receptive to individual customer requirements and ensure that these are satisfied in a friendly, helpful and efficient manner
• Be flexible to jump into any roll within the kitchen when needed
• Assist with the training of and supervise junior members of the kitchen brigade
• Contribute to creating a warm and welcoming environment for our guests and colleagues

Ideal candidate

• Experience working within a busy kitchen in a similar role is essential, and it would be advantageous for this to have been in a hotel kitchen
• We are looking for someone with a real passion for food and the drive to succeed in a new role
• Outstanding hygiene skills are essential
• Certificate in elementary food hygiene would be desirable
• Due to the nature of the work, the ideal candidate would be fully flexible in their approach to work and be able to work shift patterns through weekdays and weekends
