Top Chefs to Appear at First Ever ‘Old Down Estate Food Festival’
Foodies are in for a treat as Old Down Estate Food Festival makes its debut on the 31st August 2015.

Organised by Bristol food hero, Chris Wicks, Old Down Estate Food Festival will take place on Bank Holiday Monday August 31 at the stunning Old Down Estate, set among the rolling hills of the Gloucestershire countryside, overlooking the Severn Vale.
The event will see a plethora of top chefs take to the Chefs’ Forum demonstration stage to showcase the very latest culinary techniques using local ingredients.
Among those sharing their expertise will be winner of MasterChef 2014 Ping Coombes, Indian chef Romy Gill from Romy’s Kitchen, festival organiser and Executive Head Chef at Old Down Estate Chris Wicks and Pat Hart and Sherrie Eugene-Hart presenters of Made in Bristol TV’s popular show, CaribAsian. With a new series of CaribAsian due to be screened this autumn lucky visitors will be given a sneak peek at some of the recipes from the coming season.
The demonstrations will be sponsored by local businesses including Greg Latchams Solicitors, Bristol Audi and Clifton Food Range.
Taking place every hour from 11am people are encouraged to arrive early at the demo stage to ensure that they get a prime spot to see the chefs in action.
“We are delighted to have so many talented chefs on board to demonstrate such a range of food styles and techniques.
“Bristol’s food scene is so vibrant and culturally diverse and I think the chefs that will be appearing really represent that variety.”
As well as watching demonstrations visitors will also be able to enjoy a range of street food thanks to urban street food collective BEATS.
BEATS aims to blend the South West’s freshest new street food offerings, with the region’s best up-and-coming music, artists and performers, along with licensed bar facilities to create street food party events.
“This year’s Old Down Estate Food Festival promises to be a truly fantastic event.
“Bristol’s food scene is stronger than ever before, and I hope that this festival will be a real celebration of everyone coming together to showcase everything that that the area has to offer.”
The Old Down Estate Food Festival takes place on August 31.
Gates open at 10am with demonstrations beginning at 11am.
The events admission charges are £5 per adult and £3 per child 2 – 12 years or concessions.
If you wish to have entrance to the Country Park also the charges are £8.30 per adult and £5.30 per child/concessions which will include entry to the food festival and demonstrations.
