J Sheekey Atlantic Bar Celebrates Tenth Anniversary with a Year-long Guest Chef Series

J Sheekey Atlantic Bar has launched an exciting series of supper clubs for 2018, hosting guest chefs from around the UK to celebrate its ten-year anniversary.

Each chef will collaborate on a one-off, three-course menu with executive head chef Andrew McLay and cook alongside him in the J Sheekey kitchen for up to 50 guests.

The series kicked off last week with Simon Hulstone, chef-proprietor of Michelin-starred The Elephant in Torquay, who served fillet of cod served with parsnip purée and a verjus and spring onion butter sauce.

The next guest chef, on April 17, is Mark Sargeant of Rocksalt in Kent, followed by Bruce Rennie of The Shore in Penzance, who cooks at J Sheekey Atlantic Bar on May 22.

Speaking about the guest chef series, Andrew McLay said: “Given all of these restaurants and J Sheekey Atlantic Bar’s commitment to, and shared passion for, serving responsibly caught fish and shellfish from sustainable sources, it made perfect sense for me to team up with all of these great chefs and collaborate on a menu.

“We feel privileged to be able to work together to give the public a taste of what we offer at each of our restaurants through the creation of a special one-off dinner and a limited-time dish.”

As well as their signature cooking style, each chef will give a rare insight into their respective approaches and methods, as they discuss their philosophies with diners after the meal.

For those who are not able to book tickets to any of the suppers themselves, a signature dish from each event will be featured on the J Sheekey Atlantic Bar menu for several weeks after, alongside a Plymouth Gin Martini that will pair with each signature dish.

Tickets are priced at £50 per person, which includes a minimum of three courses and excludes drinks, booking fee and service charge.
