Ecolab Pest Elimination Awarded UK’s First European Pest Management Standard Certificate (EN 16636)
NORTHWICH, UK – December 10, 2015 – Ecolab Pest Elimination has become the first pest management company in the United Kingdom to be awarded a certificate in the European Pest Management Standard (BS EN 16636). The standard, which is the first that is specific to the pest industry, was launched by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) and verified by the independent, global certification body, Bureau Veritas.
Ecolab Pest Elimination demonstrated a high quality professional pest management service, while minimising risks to human health and any potential negative impacts on the environment. The award covers all areas that contribute to providing pest management services, including administration, sales, training and service delivery.
Commenting on the award, Roy Smith, general manager of Ecolab Pest Elimination UK and Ireland said: “I am particularly proud that we were issued with the first certificate in the European Pest Management Standard. This not only underlines our confidence that our operations meet the highest possible standards, but demonstrates that we place quality at the forefront of everything we do. This is a step forward for the professional standards within our industry and we wanted to be first. We take our responsibilities in leading the Pest Control marketplace very seriously indeed.”
The new European standard has been developed with consultation and guidance from the Confederation of European Pest Management Associations (CEPA).
Simon Forrester chief executive of the British Pest Control Association added: “The European Pest Management Standard is a step forward for our industry in being able to standardise and demonstrate high levels of competency in delivering pest management services. We are delighted that Ecolab has achieved this standard and would like to congratulate the team on its success.”
