Douglas Balish is the Executive Chef at 5-star hotel, Grove of Narberth. A passion for local produce and the prospect of a rural lifestyle brought Scotsman Dougie to this corner of West Wales.
Taking inspiration from its surrounding countryside, Dougie blends the most modern techniques with cooking rooted in classic excellence. At the 2022 AA awards, Grove of Narberth collected three significant awards, achieving 5 Red Stars for the hotel, 4 Rosettes for its Fernery Restaurant, as well as the Wine List of the Year for Wales.
Grove is now one of just 12 UK hotels to hold both 5 Red Stars and 4 Rosettes or above from the AA. At home, you’ll find Dougie mastering his other craft of being a father and doting on his young baby son.
