Denise has worked in the hospitality industry for over 30 years, 20 of those years have been in the education sector.

She strives to support building the next generation of the hospitality industry workforce in her role as Head of Curriculum for Service Industries at West London College. Working with local employers developing realistic working experience opportunities for catering students.

Her passion for hospitality runs through the department, with students engaging in every enrichment opportunity that comes their way. Developing their passion, skills and confidence for the hospitality industry.

As Head of Curriculum for Service Industries this includes managing two other areas, Hair & Beauty and Travel & Tourism. Denise has implemented events where all three areas work together – International Village, the catering students providing food, Hair & Beauty students providing mini manicures and Travel & Tourism showcase the best of different countries.

Denise also is chair for the Descendants Charity, the organisation works primarily but not exclusively with children of African and Caribbean descent. The organisation’s main aim is to promote positivity, encouraging the children and young people to have pride in their heritage, work hard and aim to be the best in whatever they choose to do. We encourage them to be ambitious and strive for excellence.
