This is a permanent position for candidates who prove their skills. The vacancy is a full time, 45+ hours per week but need to be flexible on working extra pending business needs.

The position requires all general work in the kitchen including food preparations, food production, stock maintenance, cleaning, washing, and involving some customer interactions as we have the open fish counter bar.

Job duties include but not limited to:

  • Prepare fish to specific cuts and maintain quality of all work.
  • Ensure that all fish handled is with respect as it is a delicate product and presented in customer orders with high care and attention.
  • Work as part of a team.
  • To support and train new members of the team as and when required.
  • It critical that the right candidate has an eye for detail and can work quickly, but efficiently.
  • Supply the management with direct feedback in written and oral form of any quality issues that would be deemed as detrimental to the business, or not consistent with the customer requirements.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar position is necessary (at least 1 year)
  • Experience in the kitchen, especially Sushi production
  • Knowledge of qualities, specs and preps
  • Communicative English language
