Is the Winterhalter KP of the Year working in YOUR kitchen?
Winterhalter are on the hunt for the best KP in the country.
The Caterer magazine has joined forces with Winterhalter to find the 2015 KP of the Year. There are great prizes for the winning KP including £1000 cash and a meal for family and friends at a leading casual dining restaurant.
Winterhalter will also award products worth £8,000 to the winning kitchen. Plus, every KP nominated will get a special gift.
Top chefs are supporting the KP of the Year campaign, including Marcus Wareing, Michel Roux Jr, Emily Watkins, Sean Searley and Nathan Outlaw.
“We all know that the KP is probably one of the most important people in the kitchen and sometimes they get overlooked. Here at Marcus we recognise how important they are, and they’re well respected. They are spoken to like you’d speak to a fellow chef, and that’s something I enjoy seeing. I think it is great that they’re getting recognised in the industry with the KP of the Year award. Good for The Caterer and Winterhalter for doing this.” Marcus Wareing
“Good cooking starts with a clean pot and you can’t serve good food on a dirty plate. Kitchen porters are worth their weight in gold. As a restaurateur I have utmost respect for KPs and I always look after them. They work very, very hard and are quite often the least paid in the kitchen. They deserve a pat on the back every day. This idea of having a Kitchen Porter of the Year is absolutely fantastic. I wholeheartedly back it. And I plan to put forward a couple of my own KPs.” Michel Roux Jr
