Pembrokeshire College

Pembrokeshire College is the county’s largest provider of a wide range of post-16 education and training. Situated in a modern, purpose-built campus in Haverfordwest, we offer young people and adults excellent training opportunities.

Based in the UK’s only coastal national park we are passionate about the hospitality and tourism industry. Enrolling on one of our hospitality courses provides young people with their first step to an exciting career in this expanding field. Practical, hands-on training, means students leave the College equipped with the skills needed by employers and ready to embark on their own career journey.

Our industrial kitchens, commercial restaurant and coffee shop are open to the general public so our students are serving the public from day one, while our links with employers give them real industry exposure.

Former students have gone on to work in some of the UK’s finest establishments including Gleneagles, Pennyhill Hotel and the Atlantic Hotel, Jersey while others have gone on to set up their own artisan bakeries.

We are committed to giving our students as much real-life exposure to the industry as possible. Our close working relationships with local employers afford learners the chance of work experience at Twr-y-Felin Hotel in St. David’s, The Grove in Narberth and St. Bride’s Spa Hotel in Saundersfoot to name but a few. Former students have also undertaken work placements at a wide range of five-star restaurants across the UK including: The Bath Priory, Le Manoir Aux Quat’ Saisons, Loam, One Aldwych and The Berkeley.

In 2019, one of our students also competed at the WorldSkills Finals in Russia where the best trainees from 60 countries competed to be crowned the ‘best in the world’. We are incredibly proud of Sam who secured a Medallion of Excellence and was placed in the top five.

For school leavers, our courses provide a lively, stimulating environment that acts as a stepping stone towards university or the world of work. We are delighted to be the only Chefs’ Forum Academy in West Wales and are excited about the opportunities that this will bring our hospitality learners.
