CELEBRATE FOOD WITH CHAMPAGNE TAITTINGER AND WINE WITH ERRAZURIZ PINK LADY® FOOD PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR

Entries are now open for Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year 2014, the global celebration of the art of food photography applauding both amateurs and professionals, young and old.

Champagne Taittinger is delighted to be the celebratory toast at the Awards, which in just two years has already established itself as a major international cultural event.

Errazuriz Wine Photographer of the Year is a category for wine lovers around the globe, and is once more open for photographs of all things vinous, divided into three sub-categories: Produce, People and Places.

Food for Celebration sponsored by Champagne Taittinger is a category inviting images of festive food from across the world.  This might be Christmas, Divali or Chanukah, Easter, birthdays or weddings, or a celebration of something simple but special to the people involved.  Entries might show tables groaning with food, people eating special festive foods, or even preparing it.

Taittinger is one of the few major Champagne Houses to be owned and actively managed by the family named on the label.  In 2014, Marketing Director Vitalie Taittinger has been invited to join the judging panel for the Food for Celebration category.

Vitalie comments:  “Every day at Taittinger we are creating beauty and excellence to make people happy, open their minds and their hearts.  I feel honoured to join the judging panel for this category because Champagne, like food, has a special place in celebrations and happy memories.”

Last year, overall entries were up 73%, with more than 5,500 images coming from the far corners of the globe.   The most inspiring food photography was submitted and Food for Celebration was won by Jessie DiBlasi for ‘Making Mochi’ (above).  Tim Clinch was declared the first ever Errazuriz Wine

Photographer of the Year for his winning photograph ‘Wines Maturing in the Cellars at Dogobo Winery, Tokaj, Hungary’ (below right).  The overall winner was a little-known photographer from Romania, Alexandrina Paduretu, with a beautiful and endearing shot of her grandfather eating an apple.

First prize for the overall winner is £5000.   Alongside Vitalie Taittinger, the distinguished panel of judges for this year include David Loftus, Jamie Oliver’s food photographer; Julia Bradbury, Presenter, BBC1 Countryfile; Donna Hay, Australian food stylist and author; Yotam Ottolenghi, acclaimed chef, cookery writer and restaurateur, and Pat Llewellyn, Founder and Managing Director, Optomen Television.
