CCE HELP CREATE MICHELIN CHEF’S NEW BIRMINGHAM RESTAURANT
When a Michelin star chef launches a new restaurant, CCE Group Ltd invariably has a hand in the design and fit out of its working areas. The company’s latest project – the creation of a kitchen and food bar for Adam Stokes new restaurant in Waterloo Street, Birmingham, is no exception.
Defined by its ultra-cool contemporary look with black granite and stainless steel features, the new venue – a successor to Adam Stokes celebrated Michelin star restaurant in Bennetts Hill – posed some interesting production challenges for CCE.
Foremost amongst these were the dismantling and reassembling of components to negotiate restricted access through the city’s German Christmas market, and a narrow rear entrance to the site via a flight of stairs less than a metre in width.
“The Athanor cooking range was actually dismantled in the street and reassembled on the kitchen floor” says Ray Costelloe, CCE’s Managing Director. “Other major units included a chef’s table designed to seat 12; ovens and refrigeration equipment on the lower ground floor; and a meat and vegetable bar on the ground floor servicing the 35 seater restaurant and 16 seater private dining area”.
Both the chef’s table and food bar were bespoke stainless steel constructions, factory folded and finished on site without visible joints or welds. CCE also supplied fitted an Athanor cooking range, Rational ten and six stack ovens with ultra-vents, and Precision refrigeration units.
“The whole restaurant is a facility we are extremely proud of” says owner Adam Stokes, “and we hope Birmingham will be proud of it too. The ethos remains to excite guests with accurate cooking of quality ingredients and create a unique experience for each diner within our friendly and professional restaurant”.
