Budding Young Devon Chefs’ Graduation Event
City College Plymouth is holding a graduation event for young chefs who have recently finished a nine week Junior Chef Academy course.
The graduation event will take place on Thursday 13 March at 7.00pm, where the young chefs will prepare and serve a hot buffet to their parents and family members, as a culmination and celebration of their nine week programme.
Following the meal the students will be congratulated on their achievement and presented with a certificate by the College’s Principal, Phil Davies and their Chef Tutor, Jamie McMurrich.
Helen Marshall, Head of Hospitality and Catering at the College, said: “The course is designed to be both fun and enjoyable and enables students to explore their own creativity and passion for cooking.
“We already have had 18 applications for the next Junior Chef Academy which starts on 27 March and we intend to apply for further funding from the Savoy Educational Trust to support further Junior Chef Academy courses in the next academic year.”
The Junior Chef Academy, in association with the Savoy Educational Trust, gives young people between the ages of 14 and 16 who love cooking and really want to develop skills in the kitchen, the opportunity to learn how to cook with confidence and style.
