Koppert Cress Launching International Academy ‘Cressperience’ Days
UK chefs are being offered a unique opportunity to benefit from the expertise of Dutch company Koppert Cress, who specialise in cresses and the special effect they have on the senses of diners.
The company is launching Cress Academy Days across the countries where its collection of micro-vegetables, greens and cresses, known, as ‘Architecture Aromatique’, is used – including at eight locations in the UK and Middle East.
Since 2002 Koppert Cress has been creating magic at their greenhouses near Rotterdam, pushing the boundaries of seed technology and stimulating demand for their unique products. Supplying restaurants, caterers and hotels, their fresh and tasty ingredients have been helping chefs be creative and surprise their guests for many years.
For many years chefs and catering students have been visiting the Koppert Cress Culinary Development Kitchens to discover the possibilities for their menus. Now the valuable insights into how the seedlings of unique plants are grown, their flavour, fragrance and presentation are being taken on the road.
The Cress Academy Days are completely FREE. They will consist of menu design, cress education and tasting sessions, an introduction to food pairings and a nine-course tasting menu prepared by the Koppert Cress in-house team.
Attendees will also discover what’s trending, infusion and combination possibilities and menu ideas. Questions like ‘what’s the difference between a cress and a micro green?’ will also be answered.
Places are limited to 25 per Cress Academy day so registering in advance is recommended. The locations for the days are; Belfast, Cardiff, Exeter, London, Dubai, Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow. Everyone who completes the day will be given a free training module pack and attendance certificate.
Anyone wanting to attend can register at @koppertCressUK for Twitter, Koppert Cress UK on Facebook or e-mail UK Country Manager Paul da Costa Greaves at paul@koppertcress.com
