Frank was born in Bristol in July 1963, the eldest of 4 children. He went to Hartcliffe school and had no idea what he wanted to do when he finished!
He had spent a few shifts with an uncle who was a chef at the Grand Hotel in Bristol, so when he ended up at the Navy careers office, one of the jobs available to him was a chef, so he took it.
He spent 7 years in the Royal Navy being classically trained as a chef, travelling the world. On leaving he worked on a cruise liner in the Caribbean for a couple of years. When Frank decided to settle down he took a few different jobs in local pubs and restaurants, then helped to set up the Flute de Paris in Weston-super-Mare. In 2003 he bought a property in Cheddar and opened Franks Restaurant. It’s a small restaurant run by Frank and his wife.
