Our Story
The Swan, The White Hart and Timbrell’s Yard are 3 independent coaching inns in a beautiful part of the West Country. We started buying and renovating these pubs in 2011 and we have had great fun making them special places to visit again. Our award winning and busy pubs have been fully renovated from the ground up with new kitchens and the latest equipment.
We are a young and ambitious company backed by The Draco Group and we’re looking for people who want to make their mark. We are growing and promoting our staff all the time and that is why this position has become available

Our Food
inline_642_http://thechefsforum.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/porkbelly-300x200.jpgWorking with the best produce available locally, our food is tasty but simple. This is a common claim but we work very hard at it. When writing our menus we pick our favourite British ingredients, treat them right & cook them well.
And whilst we don’t feel comfortable with the formality of fine dining we’re committed to making the most of our plentiful local produce. We make everything in our kitchens from preserves and ice creams to breads and home cured meats – so there’s plenty of opportunity for inexperienced cooks to learn something a bit different.

The Role
As an ambitious chef you will be integral in maintaining consistently high cooking standards within a fast paced fresh food operation. Applicants must be ambitious, creative and – most importantly – a fantastic cook! 2 years cooking in a similar kitchen is required for this position.
We’re a young company and we’re busy, so we need a tight team. Good working relationships are essential to our success and we operate a calm kitchen with good communication between all members of the team.
Menu writing is a team game too. Working with Tom Blake, the group Head Chef and the rest of your team, you must think British & seasonal.

 Why Us
So many reasons! We’re small, resourceful and do things properly. We’re growing and that means opportunities to develop your career through internal promotion. That helps us as well as helping you, because we value the relationships and knowledge that build up within the team.
We offer a very competitive salary up to £19,000 plus tips and 28 days holiday. We offer training (working closely with the River Cottage Chef School), supplier sourcing trips and tastings. In a short time our chef team has already won awards from The Good Food Guide, The Morning Advertiser, South West Tourism and many others. With your help we’d like to win more!
