Established in March 1996, Tim Potter Catering Butchers is proud to be servicing chefs with the finest quality meat throughout Devon and Somerset.

A true family business, Director Tim Potter has his wife Pam, son, Christopher and daughter, Katie working in the business, run from Wellington’s bustling Fore Street, a stone’s throw away from the Devon border.

Today, the retail shop trade has gone from strength to strength with a team of nine butchers in total.

Tim Potter is delighted to have recruited the legendary Frank Linn, a Lancashire-born butchery showman to showcase his butchery skills at Devon Chefs’ Forum events and in butchery masterclasses at the Wellington cutting plant.

Frank’s job is to educate chefs on the various cuts of meat and utilising all meat on the carcass in clever recipes saving money off the bottom line.

Tim Potter Catering Butchers prides itself on excellence in produce and excellence in service, always going the extra mile to ensure chefs always get the special cut they need or inviting chefs to the shop in Wellington to hone their butchery skills.

Christopher Potter is now manufacturing manager and responsible for making numerous award-winning sausages and pasties. Katie is Deli manager and she runs the sales of all the cooked meats and helps with all the day-to-day running of the shop.  These products are all available for the food service sector and a full price list can be issued on request.

Shop Manager Dan has worked for Tim since he left school back in 1997.  He is extremely knowledgeable and always available to chefs on the phone offering menu inspiration and advice on seasonal specialities.

Tim Potter attributes his success to having a solid, family-run business selling locally-sourced, locally produced meat and poultry. Tim feels very lucky to be situated in the middle of lush Somerset farmland, the perfect natural environment to make for the best local produce.
